Does it hurt? Nope. Most people don’t feel a thing. Every once in a while you can feel a prickly or tingling sensation, which is fleeting and very minor. Sometimes, when I’m working on the forehead, it can feel as if a strand of hair is being pulled tightly, since there are no fat deposits in that area. Again, this is minor.
How fast will I see results? Right away. What I have seen across the board, after the first microcurrent treatment, is lifted brows and eyelids, defined and pronounced cheekbones, and a dewy, moisturized and glowing complexion. Microcurrent has the ability to erase fine lines, fill deep wrinkles, and lift the entire face, including the jowls, although all of these do take cumulative sessions to achieve.
I just received Botox or Juvederm, can I still get microcurrent? Yes, microcurrent and fillers work well together. Although, I do have my clients wait two weeks in between a filler and microcurrent, just to be safe.
How many microcurrent sessions will I need? This really depends on the condition of your skin. Ideally, one would start microcurrent sessions in their early 30’s to avoid fine lines, crepiness and the dreaded drooping that sets in with aging. Early 30’s: 3-5 sessions, late 30’s - 50's: 10 sessions, 60+: 15 sessions, but really, this all depends on your habits (smoker, sun worshiper, sugar fanatic) and condition of your skin, no matter what age you are. When the recommended sessions are complete, it is highly encouraged that one get treated every 4-6 weeks, thereafter, for maintenance.
I also highly recommend receiving a microcurrent treatment on the day of a big event, since it leaves your skin absolutely glowing, lifted and dewy. The day before works, as well.
How long do I wait in between sessions? I generally recommend that one receive two treatments the first week with a few days in between sessions and then once per week, thereafter. However, I’ve seen the best results with 2 treatments per week spread out with a few days in between for the duration. Coming twice a week seems hard for most people. If you can do it, I would highly recommend that.
How long is a microcurrent treatment? 50-60 minutes from start to finish.
How much do microcurrent treatments cost? The more you purchase, the more you save. Please see the RATES page on this website for pricing. Pricing is non-negotiable. If someone refers someone that buys a package then Babyface offers a discount to the person that referred. Babyface also requires a deposit when you make an appointment, to hold your time slot. A 48 hour cancellation notice is required or else the deposit is forfeited.
Is microcurrent safe? Yes, microcurrent is completely safe. It’s really just moving wands over your face and/or body. I use a natural, scent free conducting lotion that is aloe based with botanicals and peptides. The water in the aloe is used to conduct the microcurrents of electricity into the skin.
Can microcurrrent be used in other areas besides the face? Yes, I have a specific attachment that I use for the body called a body wand. Microcurrent does wonders to bring back skin tonicity to the belly after giving birth. Microcurrent also works on the décolleté, sagging knees, buttocks and the back of the thighs.
Why choose Microcurrent? Microcurrent is like a mini face lift with zero downtime. Microcurrent stimulates your face/body to make it’s own fillers (fibroblasts/collagen/elastin) and the small pulses of microcurrents simultaneously exercise the muscles of the face, which tighten things up…helping to lift everything back into place. Microcurrent is also the only treatment that I know of that works on restoring the convexities of the face, which is what we all had a lot of when we were children. This is what defines a youthful look.
What does microcurrent not do? Many microcurrent technicians claim that you can lose inches off of your belly and thighs by using microcurrent. I find this claim to be false. I have not seen this once in the hundreds of microcurrent sessions that I have performed. Microcurrent will not make deep wrinkles disappear completely. It only helps plump them up and fill them in to a certain percentage. Microcurrent technology works better at erasing fine lines.
